Meet our Staff:
Adam Sonneland, Area Director
Hello! My name is Adam Sonneland and I am so excited to step into a staff position with Young Life South Pasadena-San Marino! I am from Spokane, Washington where I grew up and attended college. I recently moved to Pasadena with my wife, Addy, when she began studying at Fuller Seminary in September of 22'. In my free time, I love cycling (and most outdoor activities), spending time with friends and family, playing guitar, and board games.
During my four years of college, I led with Young Life Capernaum as I worked part time for my local Young Life area. I love the way that Young Life encourages caring adults to step into the lives of kids and help them see the freedom and flourishing that can be found in relationship with Jesus. I cannot wait to see the ways that the Lord is going to make this a reality for the adolescents in South Pasadena and San Marino, and I feel so blessed to be a part of this journey!
Kris Hoffman, Staff Associate in San Marino
Hi, my name is Kris Hoffman. I grew up as a missionary kid and went straight into missions myself after college. These ministries have taken me around the world, but no matter where I was my calling has always been to minister to youth and young adults. I’ve done evangelism and discipleship to young men in India, trained Filipinos to be pastors and missionaries, and ministered in a wide variety of ways at an international school in Spain. I love helping people become the persons God made them to be. Some of my other passions are growing things, building things, and fixing things. I love exploring cultures, often through food. I’m thoroughly fascinated by God’s creations. I enjoy playing almost all sports, but frisbee is my favorite.
My family moved back to the US recently and I’m excited to begin a new adventure focusing on building Young Life ministries in San Marino! My wife, Heather, teaches 3rd grade in Pasadena. We have four kids; three girls then a boy with one in college, high school, middle school, and elementary. We live in Glendora right now but are working towards moving into the San Marino area this spring.
